Be Thankful
I’m remembering two dear friends today. One was a little girl who went home long before any of us would have liked and one was a man who went home long before any of us would have liked. Nicole’s birthday is today and she had a smile that could catch your eye from across the room. She had TONS of energy and she was such a great witness to the power of Jesus in a person’s life. I’m more thankful than words can give justice to for having known her.
Tom lit up the room every Tuesday morning at the 7am call to prayer. He prayed with a passion and fervor that would be difficult to find in someone else. He never hesitated to share about Jesus and he had a genuine love and passion for souls. I’m so thankful to have been able to call him my friend.
Nicole’s battle was with cancer and Tom’s with HIV. I long for their company, but know I can’t receive it this side of heaven. But I wait with great anticipation for a day when I can play beat the sheep with Nicole and walk to the coffee shop with Tom. When I see their smiles again and am challenged by their faith again. How God’s heart must be blessed with these two so close to Him. Thank you Lord. Thank you.
