Big Dipper

So at the final concert of Creation Fest last week, during Newsboys, I had a crazy God moment.  As I was lifing my hands straight above my head singing along and worshipping, I happened to open my eyes, and there between my two, lifted hands was the Big Dipper.  At first I just marveled and praised God for his amazing creation, but then - as usual - my mind got going, and something like this happened: “This is kind of like ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands,’ but the ‘universe’ remix version.  It’s like I’m holding the Big Dipper.  I can’t really hold the Big Dipper…God can.  God can literally hold the world in his hands.  I wonder if God ever holds the Big Dipper in his hands and marvels at his own creation like I am.  I wonder if God holds me in his hands and marvels at his creation.  The “Big” Dipper doesn’t look so big when it’s between my hands…imagine how small it must look between God’s huge hands.”

Thank you Lord that you are big and I am small.  Thank you that you are so in control of the cosmos that you can hold more than just the Big Dipper in your hands.  Thank you for giving me this moment to worship you more fully.  Amen.
