Bad Dad!

I had my first bad dad moment this weekend with my 3 month old son…I was meeting my wife at a Chineese place in town, I got there first and ran in to order (did I mention that we were in a hurry b/c we were running a little late for the high school Christmas party?).  In the middle of my order I remembered that my son was still in his car seat in my jeep!!!  So I said, “hold on” and ran out to find him sleeping peacefully right where I’d left him.  It was only for about 30 seconds, but it was enough to scare me.  The lady behind the counter said, “You forgot the baby!!!!????”  I replied, “yes, I am the world’s worst dad…sesame chicken please…”  It’s too bad kids don’t come with an instruction manual…I’d actually read it for this!

If you’ve ever had a bad dad or mom moment, now I feel your pain.  There’s nothing worse than thinking that you stink as a parent.  Lord forgive us!
